The Spider Pigeon
This is a rare breed of pigeon only found in the outskirts of South American forests. It’s average weight is about 2.64 pounds and can eat up to 30 times it’s own body weight. This is a rare bird indeed because it is one of the few birds that are carnivorous. If found in your home, inform the nearest animal control! The Spider Pigeon has been known to attack civilians by pecking at their necks looking for nourishment. No deaths have been reported but many severe injuries have been issued to those who have encountered the Spider Pigeon. It can fly at about 80 mph but what makes this bird so amazing is that it’s the only bird, other than flightless birds, to walk fast than it can fly. It’s been measure to run at up 150 mph if it is pursuing a possible prey to snack on. The last unusual sighting was April 29th, 2011 in a suburban neighborhood of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. It attacked a young 9 year old girl and mysteriously vanished to the woods near their backyard. If sighted please call the nearest animal control. Although cute, it is very dangerous.
